How do you administer users/Members

edited June 2009 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
How does someone go about administering their userbase? What if you want to remove an account or change things related to an account? Unban someone? Is this only done via the mysql command line??

  • When you are logged in as an administrator, you can do all these things when you are looking at the user's profile page.

In Vanilla, users are not deleted. Instead, they are banned. This is to prevent people from signing up using the same username of that one who was banned/deleted.

Banning is done by changing the user's role to "Banned".
  • Sorry guess I'm a moron. I don't see a place to view a users profile.
  • Ah. I find if I do a blank search on Users I can get a list. Feature request please...just add a link to the admin console that runs the blank user query. Thanks!

There's multiple ways you can get to the user's profile page. Searching is one of them. Click on their name on any page will do so as well.
