Vanilla login problem when installed on a LAN
I have installed xampp (1.7.1) and vanilla (1.1.8) on my computer in my agency LAN. I want to create an intranet forum for employees only on our LAN. Everything seems to work OK except the login. The name of my computer is asstdiris and I have renamed the Vanilla folder 'forum' in the htdoc directory of xampp. In the 'web-path to Vanilla' setting in applications settings I have http://asstdiris/forum. When I navigate to the forum on a machine in our network, I type in http://asstdiris/forum and I go right to the forum. When I click the login button, the login page comes up. When I login with the wrong credentials, I get the message that my login has failed, so it is definitely authenticating OK. However, if I login with the correct credetials, I get a 'this page cannot be displayed' page in the Explorer. The address in the address bar at this point is http://asstdiris/forum/people.php. If I go up to the address bar and remove the 'people.php', I am returned to the main forum page and am logged in. I can also click the back button twice and go back to the forum main page, and I am logged in. This will confuse the users of the forum if they can't just login and go right back to the forum main page, logged in, like it would work on the web. I don't have anything set in the cookie domain and the system put /forum/ in the cookie path. Is it possible to fix this problem? Thanks!
