PostgreSQL support?

Is there any intention to provide Postgres support natively either for 1.x or 2.x? I found the older Postgres patch here: http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/4390/vanilla-gets-postgresql-support/ But it looks to be pretty far out of date at this point and I'm sure doesn't apply to Vanilla2. Is anyone running 1.1.8 against Postgres now? -m

Also, does anyone have any idea how prevalent mysql-specific stuff is in the available addons? (very generally speaking) I'd be inclined to update the older Postgres mod, but there isn't much point if using PG would negate the possibility of using most of the addons...
