File Browser and large files

I'm on a shared server and i'm trying to generate thumbnails from my images... but i can't for anything over 1.5MB it seems. any ideas (other than downsizing the images?

    Sounds like your host is either limiting file sizes or has some low PHP settings causing it to fail or timeout. I'd ask their support team about it.

    I'm betting on that PHP setting thing... :(
    is there a way to see if it's the File Browser? (no shell access)
