Discussions grouped by category?

edited April 2010 in Feedback
Is there a way, either through an add-on or an edit, to group discussions by category on the discussions page? I can't believe that the only option is for all discussions from all categories just to be lumped together... Sorry if I've missed something really obvious here, and thanks if you can help. Vanilla is awesome!

I am a newbie here. But I think the structure of discussions is "short and sweet". I mean I don't need to click into the "x" category to view the discussions inside. Vanilla just saves us numberless mouse-clickings, that said, SAVE OUR TIME!

I also think this is a part of the forum culture here at Vanilla.

It's what I want.. but I haven't been able to figure out how to do in the first 25 minutes of exploring Vanilla Forums.

It's what I want too! How do you do it?
@21846657 - I think you got the wrong end of the stick. No extra clicks, just a different way of displaying discussions on the discussions page.
Thanks for the replies though everyone.

@sdsmith - This functionality is standard in Vanilla 2 my friend! No work required.

@tim Thanks for the replies, Tim. That's too bad. I have a highly customized Vanilla 1 installation and with just days before launch and a signed-off style, theme and layout I don't think I can move over to v2 :(
I guess you don't know of any way to achieve this in v1 do you? Other than make the necessary changes to the php myself?

Don't know if it works any more though...
