[stupid question] How to install addon for vanilla ?

I tried uploading to Extensions folder or so, but i have no idea how to make new addons beeing installed. For exampl i want to install custom-pages-1. Where do i upload it, how to 'run it'?
Questions seems studpi but i really cant find the option.

Which version of Vanilla are you using? 1 or 2?

Sounds like you're doing the right thing, but if you're trying to use http://vanillaforums.org/addon/536/custom-pages that's only for Vanilla 2...
