Themes crash Vanilla

Hallo,

i've got a little problem with my new vanilla2 board.
each time i change my theme from 'default' to whatever, the forum will be unusable (see screenshots below).
how can i prevent it?

    Which theme did you use?

    Many are not up to date on the latest core changes.

    And did you try clearing your browser cache?
