No input possible with (stupid) IE?

Hi there

Users of our forum keep reporting that they're not able to type anything in the input-fields (eg. typing an answer to a thread); the IE keeps crashing or just nothing happens... I've just checked it with Win7 and IE8 - and it's really not working :-(

Any suggestions? And yes, I've already asked to using Firefox instead; anyway its quite bad to "loose" users because of this issue...

    They can upgrade to IE9, I have no problems with it here.

    They "just" need to upgrade from XP to Windows 7 as a part of that browser upgrade step.
