Change Link Color

I am not a super-expert at CSS, but I know what I am doing and can make some decent changes. With that said, I am using the EmbedFriendly Theme for the newest version of Vanilla and have started to customize the Forum to look more like my blog. My problem is I can't seem to change the color of the links in the theme. I've scoured the custom.css file within the 'design' directory under the EmbedFriendly theme's folder, but can't seem to find what to change. I even looked up the color code for the links as they are now (#ff0084) and searched the custom.css file for it. I find that color and change it to what I want (#de7d0d), but the links still don't change. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
