I don't get notifications, of course, but yes, I can see some things happening when you whisper. For example, the "new" icon appears, but it doesn't show how many new items there are, because you're whispering.

I also feel that sometimes that the recent post in which I commented just disappeared from discussion home page and then I have to go to my profile > comments to view it.
