Categories more than x level(s) deep vanished from panel! why it doesn't show the categories more than x level(s) deep in a comma-delimited list into sidebar(Panel)?

it should list the nested categories 'more than x level(s) deep' under the lasted allowed category, shouldn't it?
example:
Sorted categories: [A] > [B] > [C] > [D]
we choose: more than 1 level deep
Display on panel: [A] > [B]
But it should be: [A] > [B (C, D)]
Am I on a wrong road?
