Restrict certain button bar actions

We have extended our buttonbar script, succesfully adding new tool icons.

However I would like to just make these available to certain user groups. I am looking for php fix for this please, not css.

Any ideas would be great thanks

To add:
Hide certain button bar icons using php unless user belongs to say admin group, moderator group etc

    Ten bucks say there's something useful in Gdn::Session() that you could use.
