Side panel ignores post limit

in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8

I've installed this mod on the latest version of Vanilla 2.0 and it works, but the side panel that displays the most popular discussions keeps adding more and more discussions, ignoring the limit of 5 that I set in the settings.

    Version 2.3.

    I installed the mod before I had any discussions, could this have something to do with it?
