Question About Setting up Development Environment

Hey Everyone,

Just joined the community and I'm not sure if this is where I should post this question. So, I ask that you simply point out any mistakes ;). I've been playing around with Vanilla for a few days on my local machine and finally took the plunge and installed on my web host. However, I can't seem to sync up the install locally and remotely.

When I install it locally using my REMOTE database, the settings (Categories, Users, etc) aren't replicated when I upload the files to my web host. I am using Netbeans as an IDE. Obviously, I'm doing it wrong... I would appreciate any help on setting up my dev properly. Thanks.

Have you deleted the .ini files from the cache folder on your web host version?

Also, the config/config.php file needs to point to your web host's DB, with the correct user name and PW
