    If you are using the {searchbox} in your theme then the placeholder is just the translation of "Search". So you could add the following definition:

    $Definition['Search'] = 'Search Forums';

    I am using the the {searchbox} in my theme (a modified embed friendly theme). I tried to change the placeholder by adding

    $Definition['Search'] = 'Search Forums';

    to my local.php file but nothing changed. Any ideas what's wrong? I'm using v. 2.1b2

    @meshugy

    in your themes default.master.tpl

    <div class="SiteSearch">{searchbox placeholder="Search Forums"}</div>

    I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.
