    Welcome to the community.

I'd assume pretty much any host would give you what you need to host a Vanilla install.

Just follow the instructions here: http://vanillaforums.org/docs/installation

Personally, I would do a clean install, and then, if you have made a custom theme, upload that afterwards.

I wouldn't assume anything. You want to make sure the minimum requirement are met.

    grep is your friend.

Well, if you've followed the Vanilla model, the only things you will have modified would be in your custom theme folder.

In which case, you would just upload that file to the new install.

If you have made changes to the core, then you really shouldn't have done so, and would be better starting again!

  • it is not like changing host becuase local host you normally have different database, there no requirement to point the domain or suspend service, becuase there are no live user on localhost.

Simply upload and go through the installation instructions. As whu606 says you shouldn’t edit the core

    grep is your friend.

  • Got it right ! thanks for help !
