Is there a way to hide certain roles so that it is not visible on a user's profile? For example, if someone has Role 1, Role 2 and Role 3. Can I set it up so that only Role 1 and Role 2 are visible to other users?

You can check "This role is personal info" in the role edit screen as of Vanilla 2.2 (not sure about 2.1)
