Import from Vanilla 1 gets stuck

I'm trying to upgrade from Vanilla 1 to Vanilla 2.2.1. I've exported the data, made a new installation, uploaded the exported data to the uploads folder, and run the import routine, but after step 13 (Verify Import), an empty popup overlay appears that I guess should include an OK button or something, and it just stops. Can anyone offer some advice please?

Did you follow the upgrade instructions? Going from Vanilla 1 require that you first got to vanilla 2 and then to 2.2+. It is not as simple as you may think.
Vanilla 2.0 is very different from Vanilla 1 and even more different than 2.2 .
Please read the tutorials or get informed about updating. Sorry you are going through this but Vanilla 1 is prehistorically ancient history ...
