Newbie: How to go directly to new/latest answer within a discussion?

Normally the indicator that has a count of new discussions would be a link to go directly there (rather than starting at the beginning of the discussion). How can I do that with Vanilla, as there doesn't seem to be a link?

"Normally" means other forum software, correct? I agree that Vanilla is exceptional, but nevertheless that this might be confusing
In Vanilla links to discussions look like that: .../discussion/33167/newbie-how-to-go-directly-to-new-latest-answer-within-a-discussion#latest
That "#latest" will guide users automagically to the oldest unread comment. The advantage is that this is what most of the people are interested in and that's what they will see. A disadvantage might be, that guests will always see the discussion
