Floating an idea: background colorizing recent discussions

Hi all, just seeing whether this idea has merit. And that is:

* changing the background color of recent discussions based on whatever the category is.

I know this might make the look of the recent discussion list on the main page look like a lolly scramble, but there are some discussions which I'd like to stand out more so then others, among a list of 30 discussions for instance (or more, if I change to it a higher number).

Obviously if this idea was a goer, then everything would be driven out of the dashboard/categories section, including a color picker.
