IS there any way to install Vanilla without docker? It seems that all instructions show how to use it with docker. And I would like to use Vanilla on my shared hosting.
Oh, thanks. It seems that instructions are misleading, README show a link to self-host but it shows localhost installation and Docker as a requirement. So I just stopped reading.

I have only used Installatron but my understanding of doing it yourself is:
Upload file, unzip
Create an empty db
Put db username and pass in config
Go to the domain you uploaded to
Follow forums instruction
