Any addons for adding custom discussion attributes?

Hi all! I'd like to be able to ask users some basic questions (that can then be searched/filtered) when they start a new discussion. I think the Q&A addon does something like this, but can it be extended?

Ideally, this is what I'd like to achieve:

  1. User starts a new discussion
  2. They answer some basic info (e.g. what year, make model of car?)
  3. Once the discussion is live, that basic info is shown at the top of the discussion and can be searched/filtered to find others with the same basic info.

I know, anything is possible, but has anyone tried this before?

Any approach I should try first?
