So how do you guys manage your passwords. I can't possibly remember passwords for all sites that require signing in, so right now I am using PasswordSafe to store passwords (PasswordSafe is a very simple app that lets you store username/password combos with a name and a little extra info). And better ways to do things?
I just use four or five rememberable but not too simple passwords for all the sites I'm registered at. If I can't directly associate a site with a password I just try them all until one works.
Same with SirNot. I use one password for all my financial accounts, one for email, one for shopping sites, one for work-related accounts, one for web admin, one for my Linux boot, and one for IM.
Much easier to remember one for each class of activity you do on the Intenet.
'Verified by visa' program forced me to change one with their retarded rules--six to eight characters and at least one digit. My shopping password was all that but one character too much. %-/
