How to add a categoriy list to the LEFT SIDEBAR

Hey everyone, I m new to php and vanilla. I use the vanilla for a class forum. The leftbar is empty and i want to add the category to it. Anyone can tell me how to do it? Thanks a lot.

    Its been a while since I used vanilla1... so I don't remember if there is a plugin for that, but you can get the links of each of the categories and use 'nuggets' to put them in the sidebar

    @vicred, from @Hamed's suggestion in my own thread, this addon does the trick. It allows much customisation and is good.
