Sticky and private threads on the categories list

Hi
How can I add a list of sticky and private threads above the categories list on categories.php page?
And how can I add a snippet of the latest post in each cathegory (plus its author)?

I use Vanilla 1.1.5a and Private Messages 1.1 plugin

    I got it done myself. Just got the right query by trial and error.

    Now I have another question:
    How can I display the number of posts in each category - what is the SQL query to join posts with categories?
    There is a number of discussions in each category by default, but my users required also this new feature.
