Re: Problem in Basic Registration*
@OFEKX ok I tested the google sign in that works, then I tried the registration, It appears that just closing the terms form is not taken as an ok, and it gets stuck in a loop. it may be due to a faulty query popup javascript. Try disabling the captcha . it may also be the settings for the registration form. It seems to… -
Re: Hide/Show Pocket Based on User Role
You are better off creating a plugin with a module for your adds and write it so if admin or an array of roles you can set up, then it returns nothing. It is sort of a reverse way of checking for permissions. Normally it would check to see if session is valid then show the content. Then by roles if permission x is the user… -
What is this?
I know a non-descriptive title...well the description is on the plugin page. "Community replies by email" is the tagline So, I created a service which enables an owner of forum to provide email replies simply for their users, without having complicated set-ups or infrastructure requirements, such as mail receiving… -

We probably have 30 or more roles, and a similar number of categories, virtually every one of which has custom permissions applied. It's… -
Minor, Cosmetic fixes for reCaptch for anyone who needs them
hi, Just thought i'd share my two-pennies-worth - the title says it all. If you're using **reCaptcha ** in your sign up process and noticed it looks a little messed up. This 'messed-up appearance may be the result of creating you own template or adding stuff to the page in which case the page wrapper metrics have changed.… -
[HQ news] Vanilla has a new R&D lead (spoilers: it's me)
Last week I was promoted to lead for the R&D / product team at Vanilla. It's a position that did not exist previously; Todd remains the CPO (Chief Product Officer) and I still report to him. The difference between the jobs is that the product vision remains Todd's responsibility. Mine is how & when we get there - and… -
Re: Vanilla Performance Discussion
NGINX > Apache, period. But you should be able to get it going fast on apache with a proper configuration. If you are starting to swap, it mostly likely has to do with MYSQL eating up all the memory. Can you take a screenshot of 'htop' during a loadtest and post it? You should see MYSQL at the top doing the most work,… -
Re: Hacked via Wordpress Plugin wysija-newsletters
I still don't know if they will be able to restore my site, but upon scanning I found this , some html/ExpKit.gen3 virus which I am not sure how it got there because my computer is clean. I saw that in a cache file from chrome, but it could be from any site, I am in Mexico and I do visit gov sites which are notorious for…
