I don't think there is any issue with this, there is issue with people who post vulnerabilities for kicks without fair warning. There is no issue with people who try to help. I also kind of agree on putting some reasonable pressure on a vendor to close the exploit.
R_J We'll have to agree to disagree. The claim of the OP was that they wanted to know why people used Vanilla, but the reality is they have come on and 'puffed' another forum software. If people want to discuss alternatives to Vanilla, fair enough, but be honest about it, not underhand.
If you can create an archive for 2.0 and the plugins where people can still access but are not out there confusing people if they do not work for 2.1 or 2.2. I only have one theme I have not updated, but the rest are good and the plugins too.

I've had a forum running for the last 8 years or so with minimal problems. But recently, I've had some people insult people and been getting complaints about users. Up to now we haven't had specific rules. Do you have any that work for your forums? thanks Perry, 44
Different people are working on v1.2 and v2 - the speed of one doesn't effect the other. Actually, I'd say v2 development's been speeding up, if anything. There's definitely been more people contributing over the last 3 weeks or so than previously.
