username when signing in

just a silly remark:

I've noticed that on the sign in form, now it reads "email" instead of the traditional "username".
are you planning on using users emails as username or is just a dictionary-related issue?

keep up the good work!

I hypothesize it's to let multiple users have the same username if desired (e.g. through Facebook Connect or other sign in methods). Email is guaranteed to be unique, hence why services like Facebook use it.

Lincoln is mostly right. We want to lay the groundwork for multiple authentication methods and email is about as close as you can get to a gui username.

We'll still be enforcing unique usernames within a forum though as that would get confusing otherwise.

    Thanks for the praise @miquel.
