  • someone?
  • What's your exact question? You were a bit vague.
  • my first question was how i can make subcategory's ( that question is resolved )
now can i not see my categories and subcategories, in my forum...
and also when i want to make a discussion. i cant choose i what category i want to post it
  • Did you check "Use categories to organize discussions" at the forum settings (/vanilla/settings/general)?
  • Yes that worked for me thx :)

    And as final question

Now my my discussions are showed like this
    http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz225/RhymerXX/Lussumo/1.png

But i want it something like this
    http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz225/RhymerXX/Lussumo/2.png

    How do I manage that??

    Thx
  • Not possible AFAIK without core changes.
  • oke. to bad. does this wil be possible in the future?
    @dykam
Could you manage that? maybee with a plugin
  • With core changes I mean a plugin wouldn't be able to do it.
  • A plugin/application could do it potentially, but it appears as if actually your not looking for vanilla at all.

no I just want vanilla but the functionality I describe above, I want to see that back...
  • Vanilla Parent categories are nit like nesting, but like grouping categories. You want nesting, as it appears.

but is 't really not avaible, what i want??

I think a lot of people want it
  • I wanted it too, but I can live with it. Especially when I read it was targeted towards smaller communities, which don't need nested stuff really.
  • okey, so the option will not be avaible i guess?
  • The whole point of vanilla was to be different, breaking the conventional mold of standard forum software. I doubt it will be an option although, as that would just bring vanilla right in line with other forum softwares again.
  • o oke thx 4 everything
  • Actually, looking at what you're asking for, you could do it just with a theme.

No reason you couldn't add a heading with specific content before category id 5 (for example). This would at least visually giv eyou what you want.

You wouldn't be able to click on the "sports" heading and see ALL of the discussions for all of the different sports - although I would imagine even that could be possible using theming provided you don't change your category numbers around too much...
  • oke, and how do i manage that? i'm not good in scripting or something ells
