Vanilla for MeetUp-like events + forum site?

Hello

Can Vanilla be configured to 1) run on a self-hosted server, 2) let users sign up for events + post in a forum, with 3) a single sign-on so that they don't have to create two accounts?

    If you built the events as an app on Vanilla's platform, absolutely. Vanilla actually isn't just a forum - it's an entire development framework with a forum as the first/main app. It's made to let you add-on anything you want and still use the same user accounts.
