Enabling PDO driver in MySQL

edited September 2010 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8
I uploaded vanilla on my website in order to set up a forum. But when I try to access the initiating page for installation instructions, I get this error message: "You must have the MySQL driver for PDO enabled in order for Vanilla to connect to your database." From reading articles, it would appear that I need to modify my php.ini file? I would appreciate instructions for doing this, or if that's not right, then some guidance on how to enable the PDO driver. Thanks for all the help, on this and on previous questions.

  • If you already have it installed, then yes, you could just modify your php.ini file to include the call to it. I would contact your host for assistance doing this. If it's not installed, it's a server-admin level issue anyway.
