On my 2.0.16 installation I just got a bug report from a user that sometimes when he logs in the forum reports that he is another user.
Any idea what could cause this?

  • Cache or their ISP is doing caching and there is another user on the subnet ... @Tim had an idea about this in the past, if I remember well.
  • My money is on caching. Can he actually post as the other user or does it just say their name in the header/sidebar?
  • @Lincoln: He says he can't post as the user.
Do you mean a server cache or ISP cache or Vanilla cache or...? Just wondering how to fix it.

@SubJunk I assume it's ISP cache or server cache. If there are more users that experience this, it is server cache. If the one users experiences this constantly (and with the same username) and his case is singular, ISP cache.

  • OK, I'll keep an eye on it
