(SOLVED) What does "Sink" do?

edited January 2011 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8
All I found from a search was someone speculating that it pushes a discussion down farther in the list, but when I tested it, nothing happend. I can't get Sink or Unsink to do anything that I can notice. And there's nothing in the documentation that I could find. Anyone know what this does?

  • It means new posts won't move it back to the top of the discussion list.
  • If I sticky a topic and then it's past it's time, I use sink to bring the topic back down to it's original order instead of the top.
  • Perfect. That explains it, thanks you guys!
  • Hahahaha, I was wondering this a few days ago when my girlfriend asked me this, I think that the word "sink" is not the right word, just my opinion.

    I think that the word "sink" is not the right word, just my opinion.

    The "Gravity" word can be a candidate!

    $Definition['Sink'] = 'Gravity';
    $Definition['Unsink'] = 'Zero Gravity!';

    :) Sweet words for a physics forum! Hence, Hmmm! "Big Bang" instead of "Add User" and "send to the black hole" instead of "Delete User" (;

    Pin/Unpin, Lock/Unlock

    Also:

     $Definition['Announce'] = 'Pin';
     $Definition['Unannounce'] = 'Unpin';

     $Definition['Close'] = 'Lock';
     $Definition['Reopen'] = 'Unlock';
