  • You can install vanilla on your localhost using MAMP, yes.

  • Ok.

And what do I have to fill when it is asked the database details ?

    Thanks
  • Create a database for your vanillaforum in PHPMyAdmin
Then fill in the database name during the setup of vanillaforum
The MySQL username / password are probably in the MAMP documentation. By default the MySQL username is "root", but you might want to create a new MySQL username.

It goes beyond the scope of this forum to help you with that though :-)

    So:
    • Create MySQL Username
    • Create MySQL DataBase in PHPMyAdmin
    • Set up the forum

  • Thanks for your help.

@Carlo_13 & @UnderDog : Just as a side note, I can recommend Sequel Pro as MySQL-Administration tool on Mac OS X. I prefer it much over PHPMyAdmin.
  • +1 for Sequel Pro recommendation.
