Need to Know about Vanilla

Hello all,
This is my first discussion and i want to know that can i make/modify it to make it like matrimonial or directory based website.
Because i want to start my website regarding these two topics.
Please Help me.

    You mean a directory based website like http://dir.google.com/ (the open directory project) ? Yes that is possible. The problem is that the discussions aren't really built to show details of a directory based website, the addons application (http://www.vanillaforums.org/addons) is. I don't know if the addons application will be released to the public though. Maybe @Todd or @Lincoln will know

    Lol,
    I have to translate that. The Addons app is in a final state and can be copied (forked) to another app, like a directory application.

    (An application inside Vanilla is like the 'blog' application : a separate piece of code that doesn't plug into the forum, but does its own thing)

    Forking either means downloading it from github and making your own application or somehow use some github functions to enter that new application inside github.
