Is there a plugin to auto-suggest existing posts when a user creates a new question?

It'd be great if, as a user starts to type the subject for a new topic/question, the forum could quickly search the index of existing topics and look for any matches.
This would allow users that are afraid of the Search box to hopefully get an answer to their own question before posting.
Does such a thing exist? Just curious!
Thanks!

@cabel that is a really good idea. Especially for support forums. Now I want to look into this!
Search first
Check out the Documentation! We are always looking for new content and pull requests.
Click on insightful, awesome, and funny reactions to thank community volunteers for their valuable posts.
This is a good idea. It would basically pull up related posts based on the a field when making a new discussion.
Add Pages to Vanilla with the Basic Pages app
Sphinx is a little bit overkill for us - it requires running a system process!
- so we're going to try taking a crack at this idea on our own.
I'll post here if/when our plugin is complete!
Sphinx plugin does this already.
Overkill or not it is a lot more efficient than using mysql fulltext or like search.
grep is your friend.
We'll see! Depending on the size of the forum you might be right. I still think it's worth taking a crack at it anyway, to provide a possibly more lightweight solution.
(It's also pretty annoying that Sphinx injects the suggestions ABOVE the text field, so as you're typing, your focused text field goes flying down the page. But that's an easy enough change.)
