Category Icons?

I would like to setup category icons for my Vanilla forum. I've searched through google and through the forums and found a few things, but none of them seem to work. I don't really want to update to the beta version of Vanilla, which includes this function.

I've seen websites that use Vanilla forums that have category icons, i'm just not sure how to set it up for myself.
Note, i don't need different icons for each category.

Now I've updated to the newest beta release of Vanilla, and yet there is still no option for category icons?
I would have thought this was a hot topic.

I actually made this function as a plugin but never got around to releasing it.

It is a little rough (you need to know your category IDs), but fully functional.

I was using an old theme thinking it would work. I rebuilt the theme to allow for category icons, and it now works in accordance from dashboard>category edit.
