The profiles it is affecting, makes message not automatically return, making it seem like the issue is breaking mesages as well.

What plugins are enabled and did you do any theme overrides?

All I did for the theme was change the CSS of another theme. I need to find the name of the old theme.
It appears to be called 'doc'
This is the one the DOC theme is based on: http://vanillaforums.org/addon/vanillapress2010-theme
There are some overrides in there, but nothing that should conflict.
Would you mind zipping up your current theme and posting it here? Or PM me a link if you are worried about it?
Attached the theme
Alright, I will vouch for your theme
If you haven't modified any core files, it must be one of the plugins you have enabled. Disable them all. If the problem goes away, you know it is a plugin conflict. If it is a plugin conflict, start enabling the plugins one by one and viewing the known bad profiles. Once the issue resurfaces, you know what plugin is causing the issues. Report back with that.
If you disable all the plugins and the problem persists, you must have inadvertently edited a core file. In this case, I would back up your forum files, and upload a fresh 188.8.131.52 install overwriting any conflicted files. If the problem goes away, I would enable all your plugins.
In the process of updating to see if that would fix the issue.
Still have the same issue even with the update. Tried with no plugins too. Guess I borked something with the theme :X
Also after disabling and re-enabling both Vanillia and Conversations it appears that the issue has changed.
I don't think I can debug any more without more access (which I don't want).
Anyone else have this issue?
I tried helping fix these issues several month back , I think it is a theme problem and also that the mods they want are incompatible with that theme.
I suggested a different theme to see if the problem persisted.
