Is tapatalk available? How important is it?

Hey Guys,

So I've been doing some research and have been hearing different things about tapatalk. Is tapatalk available with the current version of vanilla forums?
I have heard that it is not if you have you forum is hosted. Is that true?

I didn't think tapatalk was important but my site will be focused on Phones and tablets and I figure a lot of users will come in from mobile. I have also heard that users participate a lot more if you have tapatalk enabled. I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

    Hi rocksalt,

Load the recent "Tapatalk mobiquo" plugins from GitHub. The ones in the add-ons here are out-dated. I run about 6 apps right now with it, and made a lot contributions to BYO and Tapatalk so the Vanilla versions works almost 100%. sweat

We need support there so join in. Find the app for iOS for example under:

    Or for Android:

The design recently changed to a far better one, the screenshots are just not up to date.

  • The Tapatalk "plugin" is an entire separate framework (and it looks like it was ported from Java) used only thru a Javascript include. It's so convoluted I can't be bothered to decipher it and have no idea what it's doing.

I'm also not a fan of outsourcing your mobile experience to a third-party. Vanilla has a separate mobile theme for exactly that.
