How do I make the browser title show my translated word?

Is there a way to change "Recent Discussions on Your Forum" to another sentence?

I've tried using Definition but it doesn't work.

  • Thank you

    I'm using: vanilla-core-2-0-18-8

  • what theme are you using?

    grep is your friend.

  • x00, I've customized a bit the default theme (baby bluish)

  • There isn't a definition Recent Discussions on..., maybe you are already setting Recent Discussions to Recent Discussions on...

    grep is your friend.

  • The reason I want to change these sentences is because I'm using another language, that's why I need these words/sentences to be changed:

Home page browser title shows this: View Discussions and Categories on ForumName
Discussions page browser title has this: Recent Discussions on ForumName

I want to changes the following sentences: "View Discussions and Categories on" and "Recent Discussions on"

  • I think you are using a plug-in as that is not in the core. Those phrases don't exist in the core.

    grep is your friend.

  • x00, if they're not in the core, is their a way to translate them?

I thought the definition file would translate all the sentences, even if I'm using a plug-in (I'm not sure which plugin is changing the titles)

You need to know what you are translating first. Find out what addon is including the text first.

You can only use the locale if the developer has used the correct method to include the text, otherwise you have to modify that addon so you can.

Also it would help if you were a little more specific about where this text, is such as examples, uls, screengrabs. People can't always guess what you are talking about.

    grep is your friend.

  • @Raffi: have you tried searching your files for "Recent Discussions on"? There are some hits for "recent discussion" (see here) but as you can see by looking at the result list, the words you are looking for do not come from core Vanilla, as @x00 already said.

  • @x00, here's a screenshot
