Ok sorry, this is my first Vanilla forum installation and I have this almost installed but ran into a problem with the error "Cant connect to local host;unix_socket=/tmp/mysql5.sock" I am installing the forum on a wordpress site on my host. Vanilla's instructions are to change the string on the DB. Yeah OK but how? Help, can someone tell me how?

    Edit: never mind.

Add Pages to Vanilla with the Basic Pages app

  • OK before anyone can answer I found out the other issue that brings up this message. You dont have to change the string just make sure that at the top of the install remove "localhost"and add the DB name NOT the user friendly name you gave the DB. Connection problem was due to my stupidity. Hope none else does anything this dumb :)
