Private vanilla 2.1b2 forum

in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8

Is there a way make a vanilla 2.1b2 forum private? That is to say make the board function so that only users who are logged in can see any posts. There used to be a plugin (http://vanillaforums.org/addon/privatecommunity-plugin) but that does not seem to work with this version.

    In the Dashboard, if you change the Guest role permissions, by unchecking the View under Default Category permissions, then non-members get a 'no discussions found' message.

    You could edit the register box to make it clear the forum is private.

    Welcome to the community!

    No plugin needed!

    1. Navigate to /dashboard/role
    2. Click the edit button under the Guest Role
    3. Uncheck all view permissions
    4. Click save
