how to change the photo on user profile page from original picture to thumbnail?

its a stretched picture,i wanna use thumbnail to replace the original picture. so it wont be a stretched picture.

AFAIK, there is no built in functionality that does this.
You could just download the thumbnail and reupload it as your avatar though.
