Hi all,
I'm going to start a my own forum on a digitalocean vps (the one with 512MB ram). I'm wondering if vanillaforums can run on a small vm and get around 5k visits per day.
I did some test in local and other forums (like mybb or phpbb) are faster than vanillaforums, but want to run a forum with vanilla, because it has something different from other forums.
What do you recommend me to make vanillaforums run faster? My vps has debian + nginx + php-fpm + mariadb.
Should I install an accelerator like APC, memcached or varnish?

I know one of the devs (Lincoln, iirc) highly recommends varnish. Personally, I have no experience with it.
