I'm getting the message "Analytics: Permission denied - Verification is required, but failed" in my notification box periodically. It just started a few days ago. What's that all about?

I am pretty sure this is about the bundled Vanilla Statistics plugin.
Did you perhaps copy a configuration from another install? IIRC, there is an installation ID that needs to be unique.

well, yes and no.
i copy my primary site to create backups and test sites. I've been doing that for almost two years without issue. The only thing different is that i did a restore not too long ago. how do i fix it?
