Topic forking for Vanilla?

Hi all,
For long i've thought about topic forking, but i did never come across a plugin or possibility like this for the OS version of Vanilla?
Does it exist? Maybe hidden in a small barn somewhere in the plains...

Ok, i always felt like both versions of Split/Merge are broken and that a lot of people had problems 2 to 3 years ago. I remember that merge did never work but maybe i'm wrong. I'd give it another shot. Thanx for pushing me towards it.
