That may not work. If it doesn't work for you, you could change the source code. Look at file class.umlautmentionsformatter.php
Wherever you find "preg_something/.../i" add "u" behind the "i"
For the latest file at GitHub https://github.com/R-J/MentionsPlus/blob/master/class.umlautmentionsformatter.php it will be in lines 15, 36, 43, 52, 60
