How do I change the 'default' progression of Roles in Vanilla?
Situation:
We acquired an existing forum with many members, and a host of issues with SPAM accounts, and are looking to 'extend' the membership process another level, beyond "Captcha".
We already have "Captcha" enabled for basic confirmation of email address for potential forum members - however we are still seeing quite a few that are intent upon posting SPAM and advertisement, manually confirming their disposable email addresses.
What we're looking for:
We would like to change the 'default' automated Role progression from 'Confirm Email' to 'Member' to something else - from 'Confirm Email' to 'Probationary Member'.
We've got the rest worked-out (a manual process for us - to make them 'Members'), just need that 'automated upgrade in their Role' to be adjusted/changed.
Hope this is clear (?). Please advise -
BTW - Search function still doesn't work here (my reason for posting the question here).

You need to create a new role first.
Then you should be able to change your default roles for new members (check the role next to your newly created role instead of by the member role).
http://www.example.com is just a reserved domain. Nothing special about it.

hgtonight - been there. It indicates what roles are set-up by default, but does not indicate how to change the 'role' to anything other than what has been established as system 'default'. Am looking to change the role automatic upgrade (during the registration process from the default of 'Member' to something else.
hgtonight - BTW, the link in your post doesn't work. Appears to be invalid.

@hgtonight - My apologies! The 'light came on' about two minutes ago - took the 'blink of an eye' to make the change.
