I feel like your questions would be search queries for new devs.

I am going to use this as an opportunity to advertise my favorite OS plugins:

• Yaga: This brings gamification to the OS version in a big way. Customizable Badges, Reactions, and Ranks out of the box.
• Latest Post List: This adds a list to the panel that shows the latest discussions. It also has a configurable ajax refresh.
• Bulk Edit: This makes backend user management much easier.
• Basic Pages: This lets you quickly add pages to your site. Really easy to use.
• My Attachments: This adds a link on user profiles to view files they uploaded. I use it to turn uploads into a photo gallery of sorts.
• Bump Discussion: This adds a link allowing discussions to be bumped by the author. I don't actually use this, but I really like the idea.
• Mentions Lookup: Adds auto-complete to @mentions. Must have, imo.
• Apt Ads: This is a really flexible ad serving system.
• Steam Sign In: This lets users log in to your forum using a steam account
• Glass Mobile: A gorgeous theme that is easy to personalize.
• Vanilla API: This provides an API for Vanilla. I have only tested this, but it is extremely powerful.

what does this question mean. Best plugins available that work in 2014 or best plugin written in 2014. And for what version of vanilla.
