Version used in theme tutorial
Flenix
New
Hello,
Can anyone tell me which version is used in this theme tutorial?
I've tried the official release as well as the latest GitHub. Neither of these have the same amount of items in the "Appearance" pane, I've only got 4 instead of the 8 displayed there.
Can anyone let me know which version they are using, and where I can get a copy, to make my life much easier?

That is the hosted version of Vanilla. Things look a little different because there are proprietary plugins in use.
You can get that version by signing up over on http://www.vanillaforums.com

Ah, I found that tutorial through a link in my installation. I'd rather run it on my own server than have it hosted.
Is there a similar high-grade tutorial like that for self hosted stuff? It looked like a great quality guide, really easy to follow - the other guides I've read so far weren't even close in clarity.
generally using the search button and reading the documentation and looking at the wiki and the tutorial category. if you come across other "great ones" post them here.
I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.
Not really. There aren't a lot of technical writers around here. There was a movement to vet more of the stuff on the community wiki, but that has slowed down as of late.
The good news is that everything in that guide applies to the open source 2.1+ version except the GUI. If you read through the appendix of that guide, they give you a quick rundown of what is needed.
